It is a fact of todayrsquo;s world that consumer products play an important role in our everyday life. For some people, buying consumer goods represents a source of happiness while for others it is just part of life. In Chuck Klustermanrsquo;s essay Billy Sim he states: ldquo; The happiness of the characters is directly proportional to the shit you elect to buy themrdquo;. This game sends the wrong message to everyone who plays this game, specifically, young children. Having the latest goods is definitely not a source of true happiness, happiness comes from inside, from other aspects of life. The Sims game is not capable of creating feelings or emotions of happiness; it just bases itself on a straight relationship between happiness and consumer goods. Maybe this is the only way the producers of the game can make the little virtual character happy but it conveys a false idea of reality. Since this game is so addictive people truly immerse themselves in it and create subconscious materialistic perspective on life.
